Otumaire Campsite

Otumaire is a basic campsite on the Whanganui River Road, located halfway between Whanganui and Pipiriki.

Flanked by sheer cliffs and the Whanganui River, Otumaire offers views of native bush with a short walk down to the banks of the Whanganui River. 

Though the campsite resembles more of a rest area with a long-drop loo, it is a tranquil spot to spend a night. The road is quiet at night, with the most noise the wild goats or possums feeding on the lush vegetation.
