Dunham's Point Reserve

Dunham's Point Reserve

Whether riding the Waikato River Trail or water skiing on Lake Whakamaru, Dunham's Point Reserve is nothing short of paradise.
Do yourself a favour and head to the lake edge for spectacular views of the towering cliffs, small rocky islands and local wildlife feeding near the shore.
In the morning, mist rolls down the lake, creating a beautiful eeriness that is nothing short of breathtaking, if not mildly spooky.
The modern facilities are typical of those found at other campsites on the Waikato River, including flush toilets, recycling and rubbish bins.

Pack your bike and take a modest 12km (approx) return trip along the Waikato River trail to the Ongoroto bluffs for an amazingly scenic viewpoint.
