Bridal Veil Falls (Waireinga)

Bridal Veil Falls (Waireinga)

One of the most photographed waterfalls on the North Island, Bridal Veil falls, is a spectacular sight from both above and below. A 10-minute well-maintained path leads to a viewing platform at the top of the falls. This path is suitable for wheelchairs and those with mobility aids.

From the viewing platform, the track descends steeply for a further 10 minutes, with the aid of many well-graded steps to the basin below. Here a boardwalk takes you across the stream to the best vantage point to gaze up at the 55-metre-high falls and kiwi guardians post for the kids.

Getting there:

From the Hamilton/Raglan highway (SH23) turn into Te Mata Rd, then left into Kawhia Rd.
