Holdworth Camping Area

Holdsworth Camping area presents more like a privately run campground than a Department of Conservation campsite. Surrounded by mature trees and bordered by a mountain stream, it features cooking shelters and pristine open grass areas to pitch your tent or park your camper.

Holdsworth camping area is a credit to the onsite caretaker and arguably the best-presented DOC campsite in the Wairarapa. This gateway to the Tararua Ranges is the perfect base for day walks, multi-day trips, or some good old r & r.

Fires are by permit only. Permits are obtainable from the caretaker at his residence.
