Kaitoke Regional Park

Kaitoke Regional Park

Kaitoke Regional Park (Camping area)

If there is one thing Wellington is short of, it's places to camp on a budget. Kaitoke Regional Park offers some of the best-equipped facilities around for less than the cost of most DOC campsites.

Located 25 minutes north of Upper Hutt, it provides the perfect base for exploring the Remutaka Rail Trail and Tunnel Gully mountain bike tracks, along with a number of walks from the park itself.

While the park offers a number of powered campsites, it also boasts power at its cooking shelters for you to charge up those essential electronics.

The park offers large open spaces, perfect for large groups, but lacks secluded campsites for those who want the feeling of isolation and getting away.

Fires are permitted in provided braziers at selected riverside spots only.

Fees are payable electronically onsite. for more visit the Greater Wellington website.
