Waiohine Gorge Camping Area

Waiohine Gorge Campsite offers a selection of campsites, from private and secluded to communal areas with convenient access to amenities, including flushing toilets.
Thanks to ongoing predator control, camper are treated to abundant and diverse birdlife.

Popular with trampers, the Waiohine Gorge camping area offers access to multiple tracks and huts accessed via a swing bridge across the Waiohine Gorge.
After heavy or prolonged rain, access to some campsites can become an issue where gravel is sparse.

Campsite is operated by Department of Conservation, with fees payable onsite.

Note: The road features three shallow fords.
